Canada Place and Ballantyne cruise terminals in Vancouver are easily accessible from the city centre and provide a range of guest services.

During the busy Alaska cruise ship season from May to September, Vancouver’s two main ports are host to over twenty-five vessels. Each year, more than 900,000 passengers on 275 sailings pass through the two cruise ship terminals. Most of the international cruise lines including Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Carnival Cruises, Royal Caribbean and Holland America have one or more ships leaving Vancouver for the popular Alaska cruise. Due to its prime location, Canada Place is the better terminal for cruise passengers to embark and disembark from.

Canada Place(999 Canada Place)

This picturesque port is located in the same building as Vancouver’s Convention and Exhibition Centre with its five-sails rooftop. The terminal is in the downtown core and close to shopping, dining and many attractions including Stanley Park. Canada Place offers views of the Lionsgate Bridge and is steps away from Robson Street, Vancouver's main shopping district.

Ballantyne (655 Centennial Road)

Ballantyne is Vancouver’s second cruise facility located east of downtown. This port is situated in an industrial part of Vancouver and does not offer the convenient location and amenities of Canada Place. Ballantyne cruise terminal can be accessed via Clark Drive or McGill Street overpass only.

Transportation Services

From Vancouver International Airport, both cruise ship terminals are approximately thirty minutes away by taxi or limousine. The cruise lines usually offer their own transfers between the airport and the terminals. The Vancouver Shuttle offers service between, the airport, the cruise terminals and various hotels. There is also a shuttle bus available to downtown Seattle and the SeaTac Airport.

Parking and Car Rental

There is plenty of short-term parking available for the pick-up and drop off of cruise passengers. Cruisepark offers long term parking for passengers sailing out of Canada Place and Ballantyne. This parking lot is located off-site between the two piers and a shuttle service takes passengers to the cruise terminals. At Canada Place, passengers can also park long term at the two level parkade.

Car rental is only available at Canada Place, where Avis, Budget, and National have kiosks. There are no rental car kiosks at Ballantyne.

Other Services

Both cruise terminals offer a small snack bar, binocular sales and tourist information. MTR Western Sightline Tours also has a kiosk at both ports.

Canada Place Only

  • Short term luggage storage is available when ships are in port.
  • Foreign exchange is available in the lobby of the Pan Pacific Hotel, one level up from the cruise ship area.
  • A food court is located in the Waterfront Centre adjacent to the terminal on the lower level.
