Royal Caribbean offers their Crown & Anchor cruise loyalty program for repeat passengers. Highlights for top tier levels include access to the private Diamond Lounge.

In September 2009, Royal Caribbean re-introduced their cruise loyalty program, Crown and Anchor Society. Crown and Anchor Society rewards RCI guests that have cruised more than once with benefits that start with onboard discounts and then include even better perks for the most traveled guests.

How Royal Caribbean Cruise Loyalty Program Works

Royal Caribbean’s Crown & Anchor loyalty program uses the traditional method of counting cruises to achieve each level of benefits. In addition, extra cruise credits are awarded for booking suites or longer cruises.

  • Days Cruised – For each day cruised, Royal Caribbean adds one Cruise Credit to the member’s account.

  • Suite Bonus – Guests who stay in a suite qualify for an extra Cruise Credit. For example, a guest who pays full fare for suite accommodations on a 7-day cruise earns an extra seven Cruise Credits.

  • Longer Cruise Bonus – When sailing on a 12-night or longer cruise or cruisetour, guests are awarded one extra Cruise Credit.

Crown and Anchor Benefits

After passengers complete their first cruise, they are called a Gold member. Then, the more cruises the member takes, the more Cruise Credits that are earned. Here is the breakdown of membership rewards.

Gold Level – Upon returning for a second cruise, Gold members are entitled to an Ultimate Value Booklet which contains discount certificates to use in the spa, bars, and other services onboard.

Platinum Level – After completing five Cruise Credits, Platinum members are entitled to priority check-in, a departure lounge for disembarkation and discounts on balcony and suite category staterooms.

Diamond Level – When repeat guests accumulate 10 completed Cruise Credits, they can take advantage of the Diamond Lounge (on select ships). On ships without a Diamond Lounge, Diamond members enjoy a nightly event with complimentary drinks.

Diamond Plus Level – Once members reach 24 completed cruises, they are called Diamond Plus members. In addition to the above benefits, Diamond Plus members enjoy access to either the Diamond Lounge or the Concierge Lounge (depending on the ship). They also get the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the ship.

Royal Caribbean Diamond Lounge VS Concierge Lounge

  • Diamond Lounge – Available on Freedom-class ships (deck 14) and the Oasis-class ships (deck 6), this lounge is exclusively for the use of Diamond and Diamond Plus members. The Diamond Lounge offers complimentary evening drinks and access to a concierge service.

  • Concierge Lounge – Available on most of Royal Caribbean’s cruise ships, this lounge is exclusively for the use of suite passengers. In addition, Diamond Plus members (with 24 cruises or more) can use the Concierge Lounge on the Voyager-class and Radiance-class vessels. Benefits include a concierge service and an open bar in the evening with snacks.
In addition to Royal Caribbean benefits for adults, RCI is one of the few cruise lines that also offers a cruise loyalty youth program. After the child or teen has completed their first cruise, they are entitled to the same member status as their parents.
