Disney Cruise Lines designed their ships with family vacations in mind, boasting staterooms with more personal space and the largest kids areas on the sea.

Disney Cruise Lines, leaving out of Port Canaveral, continues the Disney tradition of magical family vacations. The Disney Magic, an 83,000 ton cruise ship that launched in 1998, alternates every other week between Eastern Caribbean destinations and Western Caribbean Ports of Call. Children, teens and adults will find a variety of activities, dining options and endless entertainment on board the Disney Magic. Passengers on the 964 foot vessel are showered with service and in true Disney style, crew members anticipate the needs of families of all ages on each sea voyage.

Disney Staterooms

Disney Cruise Lines boasts large staterooms with more personal space than other cruise ships and cabins are designed with families in mind. All cabins feature split baths.

The rooms are spacious and defined with nautical details. Inside rooms (214 square feet) have a queen bed or two twin beds and a single convertible sofa that can sleep up to 4. Ocean view rooms, also 214 square feet, have the same bedding options allowing up to 4 guests and feature a window view. A verandah room (304 square feet) includes a queen bed or two twin single beds, a single convertible sofa and a pull down wall bed. These rooms sleep up to five guests and entice passengers to enjoy stunning views outside on a private balcony. Suites (614 square feet) also sleep up to five guests and include a queen bed, a double convertible sofa and a pull down wall bed.

Other amenities offered are a living area, walk-in closets, a wet bar, VCR 2 baths, a private balcony and concierge service. Cabin crew service the rooms twice daily leaving a tidy room, towel animals and Mickey chocolates in their wake.

Fun For All Ages on Disney Cruises

Parents can feel confident leaving their children in the largest kids areas offered on cruise ships. All activities are supervised by adults. Each child needs to be registered and checked in. At that time parents are given a special pager, so children or counselors can call parents when necessary.

The Oceaneer Club is for ages 3-7 where children play on a replica of Captain Hook's pirate ship and have storytime with Disney princesses. The Oceaneer Lab is for ages 8-12 where there are many interactive games and experiments. A highlight of the Lab is making Flubber. Ocean Quest is a supervised game area for ages 10-14. Kids can watch a plasma screen TV or play video games. Special arrangements (for an additional fee) can be made for infants and toddlers under the age of 3 at Flounder's Nursery.

Teens have their own space on top of the ship, The Stack. There is a lounge area, dance area, and game area. Supervised parties, games, contests, activities and even excursions are provided for the teens.

Adults have special areas too. In addition to Palo, the nightclubs and the Quiet Cove Pool, grown ups can enjoy the Fitness Center and the many services available at the Vista Spa & Salon without interruption by little ones.

Vacationers are treated like royalty and families will definitely make memories that will be cherished for a lifetime on the Disney Magic.
